Recording and transcription

Audio relayed through node 588416 may be recorded and transcribed as part of an experimental AI-assisted net-logging pipeline. Recording happens at the node; transcripts are generated locally and are not published in full. See The Transcription Project for details on how this works.

Amateur radio communications carry no expectation of privacy under FCC Part 97 or federal wiretap law, and this project doesn’t change that — this notice is provided as a courtesy, not because it’s legally required.

Not a system of record

This node’s transcription pipeline is an asynchronous, best-effort service, not live captioning and not a system of record. It should not be relied on for:

  • Fire, EMS, or hospital coordination
  • Emergency Operations Center (EOC) traffic
  • Formal ARES/RACES traffic
  • SKYWARN reporting

Known limitations include occasional missed or garbled callsigns, particularly at the start of a transmission, and general transcription error rates inherent to automatic speech recognition.

Non-commercial

This node and its associated projects are operated as a hobby. Any donations solicited elsewhere for related projects (Random Wire, EtherHam) are voluntary and go toward covering costs, not profit.
